7th Annual Course on “Nuclear Energy and Law”.
DATE
It will be held between Monday 2nd March to Friday 6th March 2020 and includes a one-day site visit to the Narora Nuclear Power Plant on 6 March 2020.
VENUE
The course will be held at the TERI School of Advanced Studies, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi

The course is being organized in collaboration with Nuclear Energy Agency, Paris; VERUS advocates & MV Kini Law Firm.
ABOUT THE COURSE
- This multidisciplinary program will familiarize the participants with a basic understanding of nuclear science and technology;
- The functioning of a nuclear power plant; the role played by the IAEA; the various international nuclear treaties;
- The regulatory structures and liability regimes in various jurisdictions; including India’s nuclear laws and judicial decisions pertaining to the nuclear energy sector; as well as the recently launched India Nuclear Insurance Pool (INIP).
FACULTY
The lecturers will include law professors, practising lawyers, esteemed nuclear scientists, representatives from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), the India Nuclear Insurance Pool (INIP) as well as from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the OECD’s Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA).
