Allahabad high court gets two new judges

Recently the Ministry of Law and Justice notify the appointment of two judges in the Allahabad high court.

The two new judges are

  • Shri Saurabh Srivastava
  • Shri Om Prakash Shukla

The Supreme Court in its meeting held on 14th July 2022 approved the proposal for the elevation of the above-mentioned advocates as judges in the Allahabad high court.

“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (1) Saurabh Srivastava and (2) Om Prakash Shukla, to be Additional Judges of the Allahabad High Court, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices” the notification states.

As on August 1, 2022, the Allahabad High Court is working with 91 judges against a sanctioned strength of 160 judges, with a vacancy of 69 judges.
