Inter-Religious Commonwealth Youth Alliance (IRCYA) invites you to Interfaith Dialogue on Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) 2021!
According to Vladimir Voronkov, the under Secretary-General to the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism: Violent extremism is a direct challenge to the shared values and principles of the Commonwealth and United Nations. It hinders efforts to maintain peace and security, promote and protect human rights and foster sustainable development. He stresses that preventing violent extremisms is rightly one of the top priorities of both the commonwealth and the United Nations.
Indoctrination of young people done by falsehood religious groups have also exacerbated the challenge of violent extremism and radicalization, we believe faith/ religious group leaders can play a key role in spreading the right information and preventing radicalization, therefore in our planned webinar, faith leaders, peace activist and policy-makers will come together remotely to deliberate and discus on the topic of Interfaith dialogue and violent extremism.
Religion, therefore, should not solely be understood as a potential contributing factor to radicalisation. On the contrary, religious groups and communities can play a vital role in preventing violent extremism.
We invite you to participate in an Interfaith Dialogue on PVE 2021.
