Calling it “bad in the eyes of law”, a particular CBI Court has scrapped a notice issued by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to retired Orissa High Court judge IM Quddusi, who stands charge-sheeted by the company on expenses of corruption in the medical faculty bribery scandal.
“I am of the considered opinion that notice issued by the investigating officer (IO) under Section 91 of CrPC to the accused is bad in the eyes of law and the same cannot be sustained being violative of Article 20 (3) of Constitution of India (immunity against self-incrimination),”
The particular CBI judge held. The court has directed the investigation officer of CBI to “withdraw” the mentioned notice dated February 11, 2020, issued to Ex-judge Quddusi.
