COVID Directions from Odisha High Court

Important directions under COVID-19 issued are as follows:

  1. The facility of video conferencing be put to maximum use with regard to the physical production of Under Trial Prisoners (UTPs) from jails. Lock-ups be sanitized regularly and overcrowding be avoided.
  2. Time for oral arguments be reduced to the extent possible.
  3. Process of Mediation/Conciliation be conducted only in urgent matters.
  4. Court staff suffering from cold/cough or sneezing would be instructed to strictly follow the medical advice.
  5. Sanitization of the Court premises, Courtrooms, Offices and chairs, tables and furniture in them, besides the doorknobs, hand railings, etc. through mopping with requisite chemical disinfectant be ensured.
  6. A dedicated team (comprising of a Senior Judicial Officer, Registrar, Civil Courts, Court Manager, and two Senior Ministerial staff) be constituted in each District Court Complex for taking stock of the situation on a day-to-day basis and to take appropriate remedial steps.
