Algo Legal is pleased to announce the appointment of two new partners, Abhinav Bhalaik and Richie Sancheti who join the firm’s investment practice in their Mumbai office.

With the additions of Richie and Abhinav, Algo will now firmly establish its services across the entire spectrum of the investment space – from fund formation to large scale private equity and public market transactions.

ABOUT THE NEW PARTNERS IN MUMBAI OFFICE

Prior to joining Algo Legal, Richie was heading the investment fund practice at a leading firm and has represented some of the largest and best-known fund sponsors on a wide range of matters in the investment funds sphere. His experiences in acting as fund formations counsel and relationship with key intermediaries give him an awareness of all significant investor, regulatory and other developments in the Indian fund’s industry.

Joining the firm’s corporate and transaction practice, Abhinav brings a wealth of experience and expertise with him. He is a Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and Securities Law attorney with over a decade of post-qualification experience, and has advised on some of the most complex domestic and cross -border transactions.

RECENT DEVELOPMENT IN BANAGLURU OFFICE

Just a few months ago, Algo had onboarded Ankit Guha as a partner in the Bangalore office with a focus on venture capital and private equity work.

MARCHING FORWARD

A year into its operations, Algo has also been recognized by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Asia Pacific Special Report 2020 for its Legal Strategy and focus on innovation and technology.

The firm had recently on-boarded Namitha Mathews to expand their offerings to cover dispute resolution, and, with the two new incoming partners, the firm will further strengthen its investment-focused offerings with their diverse experience in handling complex transactions, acquisitions and joint ventures.
