The Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Mr. Justice Mohammad Rafiq, inaugurated the Virtual Court for Shimla district on 30 December 2021 at District Courts Complex, Shimla.
Virtual Courts is a leap in eCommittee’s attempts to enable accessibility of judicial services by the general public. The system brings the court to the doorstep, allowing the public to access case details, pay fines, and close cases from home from all types of devices with an internet connection.
Virtual Courts – being truly online – eliminate the need for the physical presence of litigants and judges in the court. The system has provided several benefits, including a noticeable drop in the pendency of cases, reduced resource requirements and comfort of working at a convenient time and location.
